Grant Update: Year of the Parks Skate Park!
Following an extensive community engagement process led by the City’s Recreation and Parks Department and skatepark design experts Hunger Skateparks, Bexley’s new 10,455-square-foot skate park is set to become a vibrant addition to Schneider Park. The design reflects years of input from local skaters, families, and neighbors, ensuring the park meets the diverse needs and skill levels of its future users. The design outlines a thoughtful mix of modern amenities and challenging features that will make the skate park a regional destination for skaters of all ages.
Set to open in 2026 at Schneider Park north of the athletic fields along the shared-use path, the Bexley Skate Park will include a variety of elements such as quarter pipes, banks, manual pads, rails, ledges, a big banked hip, and a unique clamshell quarter pipe pocket. The design also integrates sustainable elements like stormwater vegetated swales and seating areas for spectators. By combining innovative skate features with an inclusive community focus, the new skate park will offer a dynamic, safe, and welcoming space for recreation, skill-building, and community gathering in the heart of Bexley.
