Bexley launched the City's first freedge (free+fridge)—a free community refrigerator and freezer aimed at reducing food waste and helping our neighbors in need. Funded with a grant from the Bexley Community Foundation and No Child Goes Hungry.

The freedge is like a Little Free Pantry, but with the ability to safely store fresh, perishable, and frozen foods. The Bexley Freedge is open to the public and offers a simple way for individuals and businesses to share extra food that might otherwise go to waste, while also serving as a resource for anyone in need to take what they need, no questions asked.

Grant Update: Bexley's Little Free Libraries!

Help fill our Little Free Libraries!

By adopting one of Bexley's Little Free Libraries (LFLs), you will help us maintain these important resources that promote literacy and learning throughout our community.

Simply sign up for a date and a Little Free Library location, and stop by Bexley Public Library to pick up 20–30 books designated for the LFLs. Ask a librarian at the front desk and they will help you obtain the books we have set aside in the library for the LFLs. Take your books to your adopted LFL, clean out debris/wipe out shelves, discard inappropriate materials (clothing, canned goods, pamphlets), and fill your LFL as full as possible.

Thank you for your commitment to reading and to our community!

Fund of the Month: Anne & Sam Powers Youth and Recreation Fund

The Anne & Sam Powers Youth and Recreation Fund makes grants to organizations, programs and initiatives that enrich the lives of Bexley's youth through physical, creative and cognitive activities. We fund projects and programs that connect kids between the ages of 3-18 to each other and our community through athletics, after school learning programs, outdoor and indoor recreational activities. The Fund will also promote child and youth health and wellness and positive values, such as teamwork, sportsmanship and self-confidence, which can be learned through sports and recreation.
